Crooked Roads
Being born In West Virginia and living there until I was eleven, I saw a lot of signs like the one above. Driving through the mountains of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia took a lot of turns. The roads had to be that way to navigate the mountains and valleys. Living in West Virginia in the coal fields of Greenbrair County was a challenging life experience. An experience like none other. The official motto of West Virginia is "Montani Semper Liberi". It means "Mountaineers Are Always Free". There is a reason for the motto and the meaning.
West Virginians are a unique people. The are self reliant, accept responsibility for their actions. They take care on one another. Why talk of West Virginia, because of what I learned in the state of my birth has brought me to believe the Mountaineer mentality could go a long way in helping to solve this countries problems. As you view this site and read my rants and reasoning you will see just how far this country has slipped from what our founding fathers intended.
